ESOL Program Vision:
Fully literate college prepared students
ESOL Program Goals:
The Springdale School District will provide a research-based ESOL program for
its students we are identified and assessed as an English Learners (EL). Our
program goals are aimed to enable English Learners and Primary Home Language
Other Than English (PHLOTE) students :
- EL's to be able to speak, read, write and comprehend English comparable to
their native English speaking peers.
- EL's to be able to master the concepts and skills of the content areas so
that they are better able to participate meaningfully in the regular
programs as quickly as possible.
- PHLOTE students to perform on achievement tests at a proficient or
advanced level with or without accommodations.
- Provide identified PHLOTE and EL students with the cultural literacy
necessary for them to feel comfortable in participating in the school,
community and greater community.
